I have the same problems with beans (all kinds), chickpeas, lentils and quinoa. Also peanuts. And split peas. They all wreak complete havoc on my digestive system. I really want to switch to a more plant based diet but this situation is stopping me. It’s especially frustrating because I actually really like all of the foods that are causing me problems.
Have you gotten an allergy test? I have several relatives who are allergic to legumes/nuts (which is pretty much what you’re listing). They don’t go into anaphylactic shock or anything but they do have serious stomach upset. I’m a vegetarian but I can only be one because I don’t have issues with legumes. Otherwise, the diet is way too reliant on dairy. Unfortunately, it might not be in the cards for you.
