This usually happens when you are young and just figuring yourself out. So that person is a foundational relationship because they helped you become the adult you have become. Although that person had great qualities, it isn’t necessarily those qualities or that person who made them so special. It is that they were your foundational relationship and you processed the newness of adulthood with them. The human brain isn’t mature until 25 or so and relationships before that age have a different quality because you are still making you and developing your brain. That’s my theory anyway. ;)[/quote]
