There are lots of people who live in the DMV who never (care to) experience DelMarVa. Why would they? If you have high powered lawyers/lobbyists they are taking their families to Nantucket each summer and would have no fond memories (or indecent exposure stories) of the local shore. Plenty of twenty somethings head to north carolina or the Caribbean and never cross the Annapolis bridge. Plenty of transplants use the time to visit their hometowns other parts of the US. There is not a natural relationship between these two places except for proximity and maybe DMV folks just ignore it because it's so close.[/quote]
