I have a current Barnard student who loves it. She’s a Columbia legacy but preferred Barnard and did not apply to Columbia (no idea if she would’ve gotten in). She has zero issues with feeling “inferior” to Columbia women, but I also don’t think she’d care. Her social life is extremely vibrant (maybe too much so! Lol). She preferred Barnard’s campus (more closed), dorms and smaller classes. If Greek life is of interest to your DD, sororities are joint with Columbia and my DD loves her sorority and there are zero issues between the members who are CC v BC.
What's her high school GPA and SAT score? I think you have an idea whether she can get into Columbia.
I’m PP. My DD is a current Barnard student. The question was about Barnard girls’ experiences. For my student, 35 ACT 3.9 from a Big 3 and double Ivy legacy, this was the school she chose and she is happy with it. She did not apply to Columbia, but was accept at two Ivy’s that she declined. She tends to eat in Columbia dining halls and study in the Columbia library. Then she happily exhales when she gets back to Barnard’s campus. This is one student’s experience, no more and no less. Just providing OP with a perspective that is current and relevant.
You're a troll. For someone who is on DCUM and cares about Barnard vs Columbia (i.e. pretigious), this parent would not let her child to decline 2 ivies and chose Barnard. BTW, why your DD applied 2 ivies when she definitely wanted to go Barnard? And Big3? No.
