Forgive my ignorance, but shouldn’t men and older boys retract the foreskin to urinate so that urine doesn’t get trapped under the foreskin? I’ve had the misfortune of encountering an uncircumcised man who smell like old urine down here (but others without this issue), and I am wondering if the problem might be not being taught to retract the skin while peeing. If you’re peeing with the skin down and just dripping dry, won’t urine get under there? Serious question so I can help my son.
If he has a lingering smell of urine he’s likely getting it on his clothes and underwear. Urine will burn if it sits on the skin for very long. You can teach him to take toilet paper and dry off the tip when he’s finished just to make certain there’s no accidental dripping.
dh is circ and he gives the snake a couple shakes when he's done and he does blot it with tp But yes to retracting. If it is not retractable it is still "vacuum sealed" closed
Wait so which is it? If circumcised, should they just shake and blot or do they also need to retract when peeing?
Sorry it was unclear. If it is retractable, retract it to pee. If it is partially retractable they can gently retract until there is resistance. If it is not, the foreskin is sealed to itself and urine will not get in there. They can be told to "shake the snake" to get the last few drips out and blot with TP. No to aggressive retraction
Got it. Thank you!
