Referencing "scientific evidence" without providing actual scientific evidence (i.e., peer-reviewed citations) doesn't make an assertion true. I'm sure this person is well-meaning, but someone with a Ph.D. should know better - said as someone who does have a Ph.D. It's embarrassing.
