From listening to the PCSB meeting, I wasn't super clear on it, but I think it would have required DCPS or DGS to agree. Which they might have done in an emergency, but BASIS is not an emergency.[/quote]

If basis wanted the school I think they have enough pull to get it, though there might be pressure on dcps to instead use it as a swing space. But I don't think basis wants it. They don't want to run a school with a lot of kids who have experienced generational poverty, and they probably aren't good at doing so. It would just be an interesting move for the school board to make. It would spare them needing to vote against basis if they can say they were willing to approve them at that location and the school withdrew.[/quote]
