[/quote] There has never been a woman president and the last woman that to run on a major party ticket (just 8 years ago) spent her entire career being skewered for her clothes. Kamala is also black and at constant risk of being painted as under qualified, especially given the way she got the nomination. Michelle Obama is free to wear high fashion and to show up to the DNC in cropped pants with a kick flare and a vest with a deconstructed collar. She's not running for anything and can do what she wants. Kamala Harris has a lot more to lose. Also I think Harris might be less interested in fashion then Obama, but this might mostly be a function of politician (cannot appear to care about feminine things that may be deemed frivolous) versus first lady (explicitly expected to embody femininity and care about things like fashion, design, and hosting).[/quote]
