Some of that (like instruction, homework) I'd expect at Back to School Night not necessarily before first day; some charters release the class assignments in advance, others don't; if you're missing logistical information, you can reach out to the school to make sure you aren't missing any emails they are sending out.  As for the big pile of supplies, feel free to keep those home the first day and ask the teacher how he or she would like to manage. You can also look around on the webpage to see if there is a parent association you can connect with for some veteran parent advice that's more specific to your school.  good luck![/quote]
