Manufacturing does have HUGE national security implications.  But no country is going to get rich through factories anymore and no person is going to get rich working in a factory either.  But go ahead and encourage your child to skip college and look for a job on an assembly line.  (My children have enough competition from Asia already.)[/quote]

The Original PP here, my point was that anyone who works in VC or finance would know that outsourcing was driven by domestic inflation in the 80s. I never said it will make anyone rich, It was a viable solution given the inflation environment. People who went along with social trend get to take credit and advance their network / careers what not.
