Am I the only one who never understood this? I don't care what class you're in, free or not, the food has always been nasty! Not only does the food look gross (hospital food, at best), why would you ever think the food is safely handled by bozos at the airport and lowest bidder vendors? And apparently even worse since Covid with safety protocols ignored, so in-flight food poisoning is super common. A flight last night from Michigan to Europe emergency landed at JFK after about 30 crew and passengers out of 277 began vomiting uncontrollably from food poisoning, creating a biohazard on the plane. Detroit Delta flight to the Netherlands diverted due to spoiled food https://www.fox2detroit.com/news/detroit-delta-flight-netherlands-diverted-due-spoiled-food
Isn’t that a subplot in the movie “Airplane?”
It is indeed, the pilots get sick and that's why Ted has to take.over, even though he was.scared of flying again. And no idea why the PP claimed "in flight food poisoning is super common", with zero evidence to back up that claim, other than this single flight.
Lots of travel threads on reddit saying airplane food since Covid has been a disaster.
I don't doubt that the food has been overall poor quality- United in particular has had a horrid reputation the last few years for bad food. But actual evidence of plane-wide food poisoning? Most people who think they had food poisoning actually had a stomach virus, generally speaking.
