NP. I’m not the PP but I am pretty convinced that the aggressive prosecution of Dr. Haim in Texas is a very serious political misstep by the Biden DOJ.

Look, I’m not taking a position on the substance. But what I am telling you is that it’s a political misstep and feeds into the narrative that the Democrats use censorship, misuse of the judicial system, and threats of prison to quell political dissent. I’m not a Republican, either, but I’m not willfully blind like a lot of Democrats are.

A big percentage of the country thinks that Trump was politically prosecuted. I don’t agree, but a lot of people believe this. Now you have the DOJ going after someone who was apparently earnestly trying to blow the whistle on what a lot of voters consider medicalized child abuse? It feeds into the existing narrative, and builds what OP is talking about.

Hyperventilating about how the prosecution is correct legally is useless and not helpful. Biden has a serious problem in how he is perceived and it’s time for Democrats to be realistic about that. [/quote]

PP here. You get it. This sort of poll — which I suspect would be widely replicated among swing voters and undecideds in particular — should be ringing all sorts of alarm bells for the Democrats. But those alarm bells aren’t ringing. The reflexive response is  instead “but the Republicans,” which entirely misses the point. It’s unhelpful and if anything solidifies the very issue that OP is talking about. [/quote]

You need to stop believing Democrats are the only ones with a grip on reality. There are clearly situations where the Democrats are as ungrounded in reality as Republicans are. Acknowledge that basic fact, and then you sound a lot more trustworthy. [/quote]
