[/quote] +100, definitely retake Calculus Your biggest problem is not merit from UMD (although that is always nice to get) Your problem is that with that level of mastery of calculus, he has a high chance of dropping out from the program altogether. Calculus is the base, the foundation of much of the subsequent learning. If he got a mercy C for it in HS, he may not be able to keep up with subsequent coursework.[/quote]
