Agree, this student is likely bottom half , AND will not be tracked/slotted into the highest core courses after that freshman year. Private schools typically gatekeep the hardest courses(as they should, so the ones who cannot handle it and would get Cs do not get in).

Not with a 3.4. Assume she gets that up to a 3.6+?? Otherwise she’s presumably in the bottom 1/2 of the class which doesn’t seem to be what OP is saying?

Applying in August ED to Wake is key — we have seen several 3.5uw get in then….its rolling ED there…..Obv full pay from rigorous private.

Also it depends on the class/cohort. This is all so school dependent. [/quote][/quote]
