When dribbling is the default for a player, that player is not seeing all the options on the field and is a very predictable player for the opposition. The coach may think the player’s other skills are not up to par, like ball control when pressured, 1 v 1 quick, accurate passing, etc., and w Player creativity can only truly exist when the player has ball mastery and field IQ. That said, I don’t disagree that most coaches discourage dribbling because most players aren’t very good at it and clubs want to win.[/quote]
