If your child really did turn it in and it affects their grade, there is a 30 day period after the semester ends when you can get the grade changed. My son had to do that recently at Blair. Irritating that he had to hound the teacher about it and then make sure that that teacher actually put in a grade change. Good luck.
Kid did everything they were supposed to do and reminded the teacher befire end if school? How do you hound a teacher over the summer?
Canvas and Synergy are horrible. They don't always sync as they are supposed to, especially for one or two grade changes for an individual student. Once you get the report card grade, you can see if the teacher did or did not change the quarter/semester grade. A teacher may have just 'forced' the final grade in Synergy to reflect the new grade, instead of putting in the grade for the assignment in Canvas, syncing, waiting and waiting and waiting. The individual assignment may still show the 50% or lower grade, but the over all quarter grade and semester grade may have been adjusted. Teachers are not working during the summer. You can contact the content specialist or admin. They have all of the grades and can look and verify things have been updated.
Do content specialists work over the summer? I thought they were considered teachers and not admin.
Content specialists and resource teachers work a certain number of days over the summer.
Thank you for the information. Unfortunately, I think we reached this place of the incorrect grade because the teacher either does not give a sh#t, or is extremely disorganized and/or overwhelmed, and hope the resource teacher will be more responsive.
Maybe teachers would meet your standards if they had the time to actually grade assignments instead of covering classes and attending pointless meetings. Maybe teachers would meet your standards if the programs MCPS buys actually work. Maybe teachers would meet your standards if they had support and respect from the community. PP you are responding to. I respect teachers greatly. We have had so many excellent teachers over the years, and this one was an anomaly. I agree 100% that her issues may well have been due to additional stress.
