I had the ablation done in December and I can't believe i waited as long as I did to have it. FINALLY I am off hormonal b/c (which was completely unnecessary since my husband had a vasectomy several years ago). Periods for the first few months were non-existent, now they're just really really light.
How long was your recovery? I work full-time and I'm trying to gauge how long I would need to be out of the office.
I could have gone in to work the next day, but chose to go ahead and take the day off, since I'd already put in for the leave. I have a boring desk job, so it's not as though I would have had to be on my feet all day or anything. I had the procedure done around 3pm, I think it may have lasted 20 minutes or so. They put me under and after I came to when they were done, I walked into the recovery room across the hall, drank some juice, ate a granola bar, and then DH drove me home. My recovery was only hampered by the fact that I had a bad reaction to the painkillers they prescribed me. Instead of asking for a drug I knew I tolerated well (percoset), I went with the doctor's recommendation of another drug I had never had before that was not a good one for me (vicodin). I was violently ill and therefore went through the most painful part of the recovery with no pain meds (since I couldn't keep anything down). After I could finally stomach crackers and ginger ale, I took a couple of advil and was fine the next day. If I had simply stuck with OTC meds or asked for the stuff I knew worked for me, it would have been an absolute breeze.
