A heat dome is just a high pressure system. They're just inventing new words to scare us.
Exactly this. Just gullible fools being scared by a fearmongering media.
Scare you how? Dangerous heat is dangerous heat. Period.
Rwnjs post crap like this on every post about extreme weather. They are trying to shut down any discussion of global warming since they don't believe it is happening.
A week of temps in the upper 90’s-low-100’s is NOT EXTREME weather for our area. It’s a totally normal seasonal pattern that should happen every year. JFC you people are dense.
No, it's not normal for spring. It's still spring until Thursday. Stupid teachers were announcing it was summer after Memorial Day and it's still spring.
The sun angle will be at it’s annual zenith for the northern hemisphere on Friday/Saturday - exactly corresponding to the highest predicted temps. Through July and August, the sun angle will gradually decline, mimicking the sun angles from May and April. And there’s plenty of hot weather in those “summer” months with a sun angle that is the same as mid-spring. I mean, seriously, didn’t anyone do some critical thinking during junior high earth science class? All this stuff is pretty clear if you apply your brain to it.
