Intensified classes were messaged at the rising 6th grade open house as being more work and more homework.  I've gotten the impression that this has led many kids to opt out or limit themselves to only one intensified class (out of 3 they can elect) as a 6th grader.  I'm hoping this will lead to a self selection of students who are really interested in learning.[/quote]
