I have a major pet peeve with people allowing their trees to obscure public walkways. On multiple occasions, I have gotten poked in the eye by branches while walking on the sidewalk after dark. And I’m really afraid some kid is going to get knocked off his bike into the greet by a branch hanging low over the sidewalk, or swerving to avoid a bush that is blocking half the sidewalk. Trim your branches people and don’t plant stuff so close to the property line!
We just met w an arborist about the trees on our property. And he explained to us that most trees along a fence line of a property was not purposely planted there. It was planted there via squirrels and birds! Eating, then pooping seeds, all the while running along the fence. Thought that was such a cool thing. That being said, we found out that we have a wild cherry tree that is sick and is not on our property. While we could trim it back, he suggested we ask the neighbors if we could pay to get it removed since he knows that it wasn’t purposefully planted there.
