We coached him on what to say ("Thank you for this opportunity, can you explain why x is happening to me?"), and we hardly spoke. Our son wasn't ready to take on an adult independently and needed some backup. It was a positive experience for him. I think he'll be better at self-advocating in the future. [/quote]
