I'm sure she was clear on the assignment here. Also, the studio had final say and probably sanitized anything actually interesting or edgy in the script.[/quote]

Haven’t seen the movie but my understanding is that they cut out the edgier stuff from the book. For starters, The guy was like 19 and the daughter was obsessed with the band. Solene though worried about aging knew she was very beautiful. I don’t recall her feeling very threatened by younger women in the way described above. [/quote]
