Nope. I bring a book and barely watch. It's a game, it's for fun. I don't even want to be there and only go to the big games or whatever my kids ask me to attend. I don't care at all.
You should like my mom. I barely talk to her now. It was so obvious that she did not and does not care about our interests. Why did you even have kids and why even go to the games??
I assume you have lots of other problems with your mom. Teen kids don’t really care if you attend their games. It’s a balance, but they definitely don’t need or want you at each and every one. Of course we all know awful parents at games and those kids wish their parents never came…and may have equally awful relationships with their parents as adults.
+1 I rarely attend either of my teen DS’s baseball games (I have 2 who play). DH usually goes to the games (he loves it). I attend once in awhile if he cannot. I follow the games on Gamechanger- there is often even live video. The boys tell me all about the games when they get home, and I congratulate for nice plays, hits and remember interesting moments during the game & ask what happened during xyz exciting play etc etc. I download their video clips and send to them etc. I’m pretty close with both of my DS actually. They genuinely don’t care if I attend- or even if DH does. I actually really like baseball but the games are so long (and often a further drive now), and I find the other parents super annoying (less annoying than they were in kiddie ball, but still…). Listening to them yell idiotic “tips” at their sons, gossiping about other people’s kids & stressing out about every play…I find it so gross TBH. Got sick of it long ago. DH takes it more in stride LOL.
