His team likely had warning of the book since last year. It takes a long time for the lawyers to approve something like this. They allegedly separated last year, but are now only moving forward with the divorce.

His team definitely knew. My BIL is a fact-checker and researcher at one of the big publishing houses. His job is to verify stories such as Rebel's. The story doesn't go in the book if it can't be verified and it leaves anyone open to a lawsuit. The proof that is uncovered is kept indefinitely and much like how investigative reporters have their own shorthand to keep their notes/sources private, my BIL has encryption software to keep the proof/sources private.
