The BOE's primary job function is to hire, supervise, and as needed, fire a superintendent. I would prefer that the BOE utilize competitive and open procurement practices and utilize a search firm that has connections into the potential pool of superintendent candidates, instead of a firm that was a quick hire through a bridge contract that has [b]NO experience hiring superintendents into school districts.[/b]

Not true. I saw that they have done district superintendent searches in Massachusetts, Kentucky, and Louisiana, as well as state superintendent in Maryland.[/quote]
