I rarely wear jeans - pants or skirts at work, and I tend to live in leggings on the weekends. All of my jeans are old and/or don’t fit. I want to buy two new pairs of jeans. One for weekend daytime, and one for weekend nighttime/going out to dinners and casual social gatherings. I’d appreciate suggestions for each pair - style, length, color. I’m 50 and carry my weight in my middle area.
Given your age and shape, I recommend Spanx jeans. For daytime casual - I would go for a straight leg, or wide leg crop. Spanks makes a kick flare that is also a great option. If you go with the dark rinse wash, these jeans also dress up well: https://spanx.com/collections/jeans/products/kick-flare-jeans-raw-indigo?variant=43014975455443 The spanx wide crop, which I find to be very forgiving to my midsection. Somehow the patch pockets make it better, though I thought they would make my belly look worse: https://spanx.com/collections/jeans/products/cropped-wide-leg-jeans-shaded-blue?variant=43015309131987 Also, one thing that is different about casual looks that are currently trendy - wide leg, pleated trousers are very current, and worn very casually, the way women typically style denim casually. I find them often more comfortable than my jeans. For weekend daytime casual, this wide leg chino pair is great with a fitted tee and sneakers and has become my go to. https://www.madewell.com/the-harlow-wide-leg-pant-NG521.html?dwvar_NG521_color=NA5676&cgid=newshops-trend-harlow#intcmp='_vis-nav1_harlow&start=8
