You can't just play young players 90 minutes like that in a Pro env. You want to slowly build the player into it over years.
Spirit forgot to roster Ricketts? I'd say they don't have much of a plan for her. Hasn't seen the field yet. How do you sign a 16 year old that has never played in any competitive matches?
I felt so sorry for her yesterday. I'm sure she was so excited to get an opportunity play, and then it was taken away from her due to an administrative error. It was very bad luck, to say the least.
Not a good look when you have the camera zooming in on the girl crying on the bench.
Not trying to be a Hater, but maybe a 16 yo should not be on a professional team if she is crying on the bench because her coach forgot to add her to the game day roster. This seems like a terrrrrrrrible idea to put a 16 yo girl in that situation.
Are you really trying not to be a hater? Because you aren't doing a very good job.
I don't see any value for the clubs or these "professional teenagers" so far. I think it's a publicity stunt. Notice the girl for the Spirit no longer plays after hyping her year 1. She already got beat out and better players are coming. What did she accomplish to be given the opportunity? Nothing. She will have to sit the bench until she is 18 and then they cut or trade her? The girl for angel city is completely lost out there and overwhelmed. She scored goals against the worst U17 national teams in the world, skips a wonderful college opportunity and immediately starts and plays every minute in the NWSL. Excellent development plan.
