I didn't take the time to read the entire thread, but I can share my experience. I was on Lexapro for 7 years. During that time, I gained some weight and went on Weight Watchers. I lost a good amount of weight, but it was very slow. This was about 15 years ago when I was in my 40s. Then after I went off the Lexapro, I went on Weight Watchers a second time...this time the weight came off so much easier. It was amazing. At this point I was in my mid 50s You can lose the weight if you put your mind to it. I'm sorry, but the weight doesn't "stick to you." You have to make an effort. I swear some people just want things to come so easy. It is not easy.
I am also 55 and lost 30lbs through hard work - I walked 4 miles a day very briskly and I calorie counted. 1500 calories per day. I lost 1lb - 2lbs per week but eventually that was 30 lbs. and I felt so much better on several health fronts. You can't just take a drug and it drop off, without either side effects or it piling back on immediately after.
