Amazon is a terrible place to work. They chew up employees and spit them out. They are proud of their high attrition rate.
+1 It’s not what everyone thinks it is. Most Stay 2-3 years and get PIPed.
This is absolutely not true- “most” people do not get performance managed. I work at Amazon and absolutely love it, fwiw. I’m based at HQ2. I’m in AWS which seems like a friendlier culture than the retail side, but it has been my favorite job to date, and I’ve been fortunate enough to work at some pretty amazing places. Like everywhere, it depends on the team/ people you work with. My days are busy but I’ve had incredible opportunities and my overall lifestyle is quite sustainable if not enviable compared to my peers elsewhere. Just throwing out an alternative viewpoint! Congrats on the great choices!
How long have you been at AWS? It's very manager specific but no matter how hard and long you work you WILL be on a PIP soon enough. They provide very little training.
