Just imagine how much better your kids life would be if you gave them that extra 240k for a downpayment instead of wasting it on a school that’s ranked almost the same. We aren’t talking about UVA vs Princeton, these are two almost identical schools. Similar “preppy southern” vibes at both too
Exactly! 1000% go to Florida! Honestly, I think a lot of people in the north is finally realizing and/or admitting that UF is a specular school- great education, great price ( for in state and out of state - though definitely cheap for in state), and very prestigious. Every year, the school gets more competitive. Also, if you got into Honor's even better. But even without Honors, it is definitely worth it
UF Honors college is a special place. The program carves out a small residential-feeling community in a huge university. I think it is the best of both worlds. I could hang out in the intellectually intense honors residence hall and also go to football games and take classes in any major area that interested me. I’m one of those national merit kids who got a free ride, then my parents were able to pay for grad school for both of their kids.
What's your job now?
