My one kid attends school ranked in the 80s.  Only heard of 1 suicide there in the last 6-7 years.  My alma mater is T10, had 9 suicides in ~5 years.  
Sure that's antidotal, but both schools are similar size, within 100 miles/same weather/etc.  Difference is one is a T10 pressure cooker, the other isn't the typical pressure cooker (but still has strivers and plenty of good smart kids).  [/quote]

Thanks for admitting that you cannot site sources. Of course, we only want to use the 2 schools we “heard of” as truth. And that is my issue. I personally deal with students with mental health issues, and they are not top schools, and they are not overachieving students. And I think that is the danger. Because if that’s all we’re focusing on, we are failing these   students that need us most.

Suicide can happen at any college, regardless of its ranking. Mental health challenges affect people from all walks of life, and it's essential to address these issues with empathy and support, regardless of the institution

anecdotally, I can name 50 kids at your “ top” schools that are doing great and 10 that are struggling. And it’s not about the pressure of the school or  the school or  their parents. And somehow, I wish it was. Because then we’d have the answer.
