Schev reports that last years class reported a 1510 at the 75th percentile; a 1470 at the median and a 1410 for the bottom 25th percentile. https://research.schev.edu//enrollment/B10_FreshmenProfile.asp
Wow! Much lower than I expected!
Keep in mind it, average SAT of kid being accepted from FCPS is going to be higher than average SAT from kid accepted from rural VA. If you're applying from NOVA, you need 1510+.
I think it is more nuanced than that. 2022 Average SATS scores: FCPS: 1185 Virginia 1124 Langley: 1302 Pre-COVID (Test Optional) UVA Sat scores in 2020-21 were 1490/1420/1330 (compared to 1510/1470/1410 in 2023). When deciding whether or not to submit scores, I think students should also consider the pre-COVID SAT scores since the newly reported scores don't give you enough information. The GPA has not changed nearly as significantly. https://www.fcps.edu/news/fairfax-county-sat-scores-continue-surpass-state-and-global-averages https://www.fcps.edu/news/fairfax-county-students-continue-outperform-sat-state-and-global-averages#:~:text=The%20Fairfax%20County%20average%20score,in%20the%20state%20and%20worldwide.
HAHAHAH! SCHEV reports that last year's UVA class had SAT scores of 1510 for 75th percentile; 1470 for median and 1410 for bottom 25th percentile of class. GPA was 4.51/4.38 and 4.20. ACT was 34, 34, 32. Sorry, you can cite what you want but you are wrong.
Um, you just repeated exactly what the PP cited.
