Wow! Does 4.0 uw mean the student never got below an A in high school? Im a parent of a ninth grader, who’s first two semesters were less than perfect. She pulled her grades up to a 3.8 average by some miracle. So she’s already shut out of uva?
You don't need 4.0 UW to get in OOS UVA, but it helps. Take a look at the College Confidential thread on UVA EA. Most of the posts were of OOS applicants. https://talk.collegeconfidential.com/t/university-of-virginia-early-action-early-decision-for-fall-2024-admissions/3644835 You will see this: Daughter waitlisted OOS :frowning: 3.9/4.66 1480 Valedictorian large public high school Son got waitlisted. OOS. Double legacy. 35 ACT. 4.0UW/4.5W. 15 APs. Large public high school D24 got in! OOS, 4.0UW/4.7W, SAT 1570, ACT 36, CS major. So excited! D24 accepted OOS, 1590, 4.0UW, 2 APs (all the school offers), 22 college classes To give you an idea.
