I have W&M kid who did 4 years of foreign language in HS. Exempted out of foreign language and selected a major that doesn't require it. 
Did not apply to UVA in HS. Now considering a transfer to UVA CAS- but will have to take 2 years foreign language.  With regards to AP credits, more was given at W&M than what UVA will take. [/quote]
What is it that’s driving the requirement for 2 yrs FL at UVA? (I thought generally that 4 yrs of HS foreign language was enough for UVA). [/quote]

Four years of FL in high school is enough for UVA; parent of the W&M kid who had only three years in high school.[/quote]
