NP agree with this. I just lost one of my diamond studs (1 ct per ear) on a ski trip and I am heartbroken. Yes, I know I shouldn't have worn them skiing but I wear studs all the time and just forgot they were on. Going forward I am going with real gold + CZ, moissanite or lab diamonds for daily wear. PP with the lab diamonds. Fear of losing a stone held me off from diamond earrings (or any expensive earring, for that matter) for a very long time. I now use a silicone backer on top of the earring back and I feel incredibly secure about my earrings now.

Once a month, I clean the earrings in a jewelry cleaner and put on a fresh pair of silicone backs. It worked well for 18 months now.
