Today the DC Council debates and votes on the new crime bill, in response to the murder and carjacking crisis expanding each day in DC. - and you want to discuss parking tickets? Seriously??
They're talking about SPEEDING tickets and Red light tickets. You sound ignorant to the issue where cars rack up thousands through blatantly illegal driving that endangers DC residents. Both are important. Also, some of the folks racking up thousands in tickets are criminals in VA/MD who commit crimes in DC, so it's really just another angle to addressing problems in our city.
There should be ticket reciprocity. -Maryland resident
They have ticket reciprocity with DC, just not for traffic/speed cameras. They know that those cameras in DC are not for safety but highway robberies. (see the stories of the speed cameras on the DC 295 in 2019-2020)
