[/quote] UMD does consider major (and other institutional priorities) in the final review/shaping of the class before releasing final decisions. In other words, a kid can be in the yes pile but ultimately rejected, or offered freshman connection, for example, after the enrollment management staff determines via predictive modeling that students need to be cut for various reasons such as major, geography, etc. Over- and undersubscribed departments is an institutional priority.
