True story: I just found out that a dad of a kid on my son’s sports team is a sex therapist who includes among his clients those into polyamory and kink. It’s all in his professional profile. Should I allow play dates between our kids? I’m leaning towards no. Any other opinions? I wish I were making this story up. Not a troll.
You're talking about clients of a therapist, that doesn't really tell you anything about his life.
This. What if the dad was a psychologist for prisoners, many of whom are likely rapists and murderers? It shouldn’t affect whether your son plays with his kid.
Presumably a psychologist for prisoners wants to help them to rehabilitate. A therapist for people into polyamory and kink might just want to help clients to be “better” at polyamory and kink, not necessarily to give it up. Some therapists, like the famous Nicole LaPerla, end up getting into polyamory themselves. Not my family values.
