Not test blind.  Go and do your research before posting.  I am a californian.  And forget the community colleges, there is a residency requirement.  And most of the Cal States also make it onerous for a californian to attend BECAUSE THEY ARE FOR CALIFORNIANS.  As are the UC schools (now less than 10% OOS because the residents revolted against the UC regents)[/quote]

No I actually know what I'm talking about.  do you know anything about OOS admissions to the PUBLICs (Caltech is private)

My kid goes to UCLA from oos. Applied to 3 other UCs as well. No test scores requested or submitted. I’m not sure if the Californian disagrees with the “test blind” verbiage but I don’t know what else you’d call it. [/quote]

Your DC is one of the few. Only 16 percent of UC students are OOS or International. And International will be a big component of that number. Plus the inflated prices for OOS students and foreigners and the impossibility of getting financial aid. The UCs and the Cal States really don't seem worth the trouble of applying to anymore. The very clearly don't want non-Californians.[/quote]

DC HS kids seem to do pretty well applying to UC schools.  Since every school is OOS, UC isn’t too outrageous compare to UVA or Michigan OOS.[/quote]
