Anyway I have always thought he was guilty but I also think it is a slippery slope to base guilt on circumstantial evidence only theoretically. So I also look forward to any new developments in the case.
Yes, that's a good way of putting it. I think I always had a little doubt here or there, perhaps not a reasonable doubt, but without a slam dunk my mind was always open to some other possibilities. I hope the Innocence Project is doing this because they actually believe he's innocent rather than a procedural issue or technicality. I have donated money to orgs similar to the Innocence Project in the past and the standard is typically a belief in innocence, which is not the same thing as believing someone did not get a fair trial. As someone else previously mentioned, the one thing I have a very hard time getting past is that Laci and her unborn child's body showed up in the area exactly where Scott went fishing. This was nowhere near their house. There wasn't much logical reason for him to be fishing far from home, alone, on a holiday (I think?), in bad conditions, other than to establish an alibi. The belief was that he never anticipated that the bodies would show up. If there was another killer(s), the chances of them taking her body to the same location are slim to none.
