Have you tried Our Lady Queen of Peace? I have friends who go there who like it. In general, Catholic Churches in this area are quite conservative. We live outside the beltway now, and people looking for a more liberal church go to Nativity in Burke, but that’s probably not close enough for you.
I wonder why the churches are so conservative when Arlington is liberal.
The type of person who is frequenting church in Arlington esp a younger person isn't necessarily truly liberal and doesn't love the liberalism of Arlington/DC. They are likely living there for career/commuting reasons and have sought out church as a traditional "non liberal" activity. I'm a middle aged person in Arlington as almost none of my colleagues attend any type of religious service - except one who goes on Yom Kippur and one who is an Alabama conservative who goes every Sunday just like when she was growing up; but the regular liberal folks probably haven't seen the inside of a church since the last wedding they attended or their kid's baptism often done to make the grandparents happy.
