I am the pp was trying to be helpful, especially for someone who needs distilled water for health purposes, like me, since the stores around here don't care. Not sure how that's "smug."

A home water distiller can cost less than $60 on Amazon and takes up as much space as an instant pot. It's already paid for itself after 3 years for me and is still going strong.

If you enjoy running around to 4 or 5 different grocery stores in the DC area to find distilled water for your CPAP machine or sinus rinsing, be my guest. There is so much demand here, the stores are half the size of stores in other parts of the country, and they aren't stocked very well. I've had to move on and try different solutions. [/quote]
