I give you credit for being able to see that this behavior was obnoxious in retrospect.

I've been in so many workout spaces with groups like this and it's really horrible -- dance, yoga, barre, the gym, an aerial place I went to for a while. It's crazy how common this behavior is and it's sad how unpleasant it can make that experience for other people. I don't need to like I"m friends with everyone at a studio and I don't need or want everyone falling over themselves to be accommodating or welcoming to me. But it can be genuinely hard to make yourself go to a yoga or barre class when you know the whole vibe is going to revolve around a small group of people who genuinely believe they are more important than everyone else there. Even worse when the instructors or staff play to it, which I've also seen. It's just unnecessary. [/quote]
