People read the rejection letter too quickly, saw 4% and freaked out. The 4% referred to the ~575 spots they have for the class of 2028, for which they will accept many more because of yield. What’s funny is that Williams is projecting FEWER applications than last year (14,000 vs. more than 15,000); if this projection bears out, the overall acceptance rate is likely to be the same as last year (9%), if not a tiny bit higher.
