We have our cell phones on do not disturb but we received a call on our home phone which has never happened with MCPS for a delay or closing. While the attendance office calls our home phone for absences, snow day info has always come by email. I need to figure out how to change the notification settings.
After posting the above I went to Everbridge. Our home phone isn’t even listed in the profile. Then I went to Parentvue but don’t see a way to change anything there. And I do want them to have the extra way to reach me during the school day so I’m not going to completely remove my home number from emergency contacts. I have elderly family members I am responsible for so I keep our home phone ringer on during the night since our cell phones are silenced. If it rings at a strange hour, it has always been an emergency. DH and I were alarmed when we heard the ring. I really don’t want this to happen again but silencing our home phone won’t work. I just wish MCPS had stuck with the original system. I also got 2 emails, a text and a voicemail on my cell. So did my husband. That was plenty.
