Hi all, Not sure if anyone will see this but we did end up switching her back to her old school and she is so much happier. We kept in touch with her old friends so she just fit right back in immediately. Even the boys were happy to have her back. The old school has made a ton of improvements this year and I can already tell. The administration was fantastic--unlike the other school which was a bit hostile to us pulling her out and only the head of school showed us empathy (she was great though). Academically, turns out for 4th grade the immersion school is actually more rigorous than the more prestigious exclusive school and she is happy to be back in the immersion environment. Tuition-wise it's a mess but I would pay 10x as much all over again to get her out of that situation.
That’s great news, OP. I think too many overvalue the academic component and undervalue the social emotional/happiness component. I wish my parents would have done for me what you have done for your DD—good looking out for her well being.
