Lessons in Chemistry was a hard read. I think it's another one of those books that I got something different out of. I thought it was deeply sad - so many missed opportunities and misalignment. The rape scene in the beginning was very hard to read, and her wearing a pencil in her hair ever after was very sad. The sheer number of people who lied or intentionally hurt the main character or Calvin or others in the book was just horrifying. [/quote]
