Look in Falls Church City. Cute little town and the best "regular" public schools in the area.
Tiny schools with minimal diversity and limited class options compared to Arlington, Fairfax or Montgomery. Almost as good as Idaho! No thanks.
Better quality education and less problems though.
We looked at FCC are were not impressed. Apart from offering Chinese, the curriculum is mediocre, particularly as to math/science courses and other electives.
Really? Then MCPS with its Curriculum 2.0 and differentiated instruction will seem horrible to you. My DS was bored in class while the teacher was occupied with students working several below his level. The disruption from kids was overwhelming the teacher. Our move to an FCPS school area, though not optimum, gave DS access to different levels of gifted services. He is doing better. The lesson we learned was never listen to Realtors, union associated teachers, etc. Do your research well.
