Do you want a cookie?  Its completely reasonable for OP to ask her sister to not use the kitchen for cooking breakfast on Thanksgiving.  Now we don't know if OP escalated the situation with her tone or the way she presented it.  But reasonable sisters should have been able to work something out where her adult nephews had a sufficient breakfast and OP had her kitchen to get an early start on dinner.[/quote]

Yes, I agree:  it’s completely reasonable for a high strung shrew of a sister to expect her visiting sister not to make brief use of the kitchen hours and hours before Thanksgiving dinner to make sure her family has something to eat.  You’re right.  [/quote]
