To help you get over it (if you don't find it): try and think that this ring was always meant to be in your possession for a limited period of time. Look back at the times you enjoyed this ring = it has served the purpose it always meant to have.
I read something similar in a Buddhist book once, along the lines of “If a cup breaks, remind yourself that it was always going to break someday. In the future it is already broken.” I’ve found that thought very comforting whenever I break or lose something meaningful to me. But I hear you, OP. In my case, it was the ring my mother made with her (tiny) engagement diamond after my parents’ divorce. She passed it on to me when I was in college, and I wore it for 10 years. It was stylish, but even more precious was the meaning it had about my mom creating a new future for herself. It was stolen from my car while we were on a walk on a beach. I had actually decided at the last moment to take it off “so nothing would happen to it,” and apparently the thieves saw me take it off and put it in the car.
